Before getting to our processing phases, we would like to introduce our water source. Our water originates from the Central Forest Reserve National Park protected area in St.Kitts, which is part of the ecosystem service provided by the CFRNP as a functioning watershed. Most of the nation’s major watersheds are headquartered there, providing the greatest source of readily renewable water. The vegetation of the area is critical to intercept rainfall, slow its passage to the land surface below, store the rainfall and slowly release it.
The CFRNP contains numerous watercourses which drain the water from the higher elevations following frequent rains. The Ministry of Health and Environment (2001) states “Although the NCEPA Act makes allowances for important watersheds to be legally protected areas no watershed in St Kitts and Nevis currently has such status. The 1956 Water Courses and Water Works Ordinance, however gives authority to the Water Department to protect certain fresh water supply sources or intake areas within watersheds. These water intake areas are declared out of bounds to the public by the water department.”
WE DO NOT FALSELY CLAIM TO HAVE OUR OWN “FUNCTIONING” CONTAMINATION FREE, REGENERATING SPRING ON OUR PROPERTY from 300 plus years ago. We rely on resources at the Central Forest Reserve National Park area in St.Kitts. Clean, Fresh Spring Water Daily.
That been said, the water is collected in a catchment in the rain forest, and treated on site for any bacteria that may have entered the supply stream as it makes the journey from the rain forest. When the supply reaches our Plant via underground pipes, it is filtered using a 20” X 4” 5 Micron Filtering system. On leaving the holding tank, it flows through a 10” X 4” 5 Micron Filtering system, making its way to the U V Sanitizer. The next step is through a 10” X 2” 5 Micron Filtering system, then off to our Water Treatment regime. We use ONLY NSF (National Science Foundation) approved products in our pre-treatment regime. The water goes through “SEVEN” 7 phases of treatment before the R O takes over for “Final” processing. The “ready to drink” water is then stored in large holding tanks until ready for bottling. Samples of our final product are tested locally for Coliform, Total Coliform, and TDS, while tested in Georgia USA for International Certification.
